Why a Bodo paper exists
Bodo was added to the languages of the Constitution’s Eighth Schedule, and as a result candidates could take it for the compulsory Indian-language paper at the Civil Services Main examination. The 2013 paper is provided here as an archived official PDF of around 1.7 MB. It contains questions only.

Challenges for Bodo candidates
Study material in Bodo is far thinner than for Hindi or Bengali. That means original past papers carry added value; they are among the few sources which show the style and level in print. Candidates should also remember that Bodo is written in the Devanagari script in official contexts, so those who know Hindi can quickly handle reading speed but may still need practice with Bodo vocabulary.
A method for limited resources
Where textbooks are scarce, build your own set. First, gather the school Bodo readers. Second, take this paper and underline each type of task. Third, write a short model answer yourself for each type, and have it checked by a teacher or a community writer. Over weeks, this home-made bank becomes a reliable revision guide.
Using the paper in stages
| Stage | Task |
|---|---|
| Orientation | Read the paper and list question types |
| Attempt | Write all answers within the time limit |
| Review | Mark errors with a teacher |
| Repeat | Redo weak questions after a week |
What it will not do
A single year gives no certainty about what future papers will contain. Check the current official scheme and the list of permitted languages before settling your plan.
Printed practice
For scoring papers, the store offers bound UPSC previous year question books to keep beside this language paper.
Creating more practice from one paper
One past paper can be stretched into several exercises. Re-use its passage topics as prompts for fresh summaries, convert its grammar items into your own flash cards, and rewrite its composition prompt with a different angle. This stretches limited material and keeps your preparation active when new Bodo resources are hard to find.
