Why there are two Sindhi files
Sindhi can be written in two scripts, Arabic and Devanagari, and the commission set the 2014 compulsory language paper for each. This page is the Arabic-script version, kept from the archived official document. The Devanagari-script paper of the same year sits in a separate resource. The file is questions only, and it is about a third of a megabyte.
Which candidates use it
The compulsory Indian language paper is chosen from the languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, and a candidate selects the language of the paper. Those who selected Sindhi and read the Arabic script would sit this version. Others preparing in Sindhi can use it to rehearse, and teachers can use it to see what level of writing the commission expects.

Practice plan
Language papers of this kind usually include comprehension of a passage, a piece of composition such as an essay or letter, translation, and questions on grammar and usage. Take the paper in the order it appears, writing complete responses by hand. Pay special attention to script accuracy, because the handwriting of Arabic-script Sindhi must stay legible over a long sitting. After finishing, ask a fluent reader to correct the script and style, and note the types of errors that repeat.
- Read one article in Sindhi every day to keep fluency up.
- Write a short essay twice a week and have it checked.
- Practise translating between your language and English.
Position in the syllabus
This paper belongs to the group of language papers that candidates must pass, and the way its marks are counted is defined by the rules for the year of the attempt. Treat this document as a model of the standard that was asked in 2014 and consult the current notification for how it counts today.
After each attempt, copy out three sentences you wrote that could be sharper, rewrite them, and compare. Small daily editing builds clean writing quickly.
